The Waikiki Christmas Store sells personalized Hawaiian ornaments that are sold throughout the state at seasonal shops and mall carts. The ornaments include surfing Santas, hula girls, canoes filled with reindeer as well as wedding and memorable moment ornaments. The Waikiki Christmas Store was in need of a fun and inviting ecommerce-based website for the 2010 season.
Waikiki Christmas Store Web Concept
The design was based around the concept of Hawaiian momentos for those who live in or have visited the Hawaiian islands. The first, prominent area of the site cycles between different occasions and categories of ornaments including wedding, family, Hawaiian and tropical. The use of stock photography and additional elements helps create a scene behind each featured ornament.
The site was created in Waikiki Christmas Store’s parent company signature colors, red and blue. The home page is fed with available product images from the ecommerce side and allows for easy browsing.
