Around Here (The Mountain Drive Edition)

Last weekend, my guy and I decided to take a drive into the mountains. It had just snowed the two days before and was the first time it really seemed to stick so far this fall. It was absolutely gorgeous! We drove from Golden, CO up to Nederland, a little mountain town with bad Mexican food and a cool little rocks and gems store. I bought the largest, most delicious vegan muffin I’ve ever had.

After lunch, gem browsing and a muffin, we decided to drive up to Estes Park since it wasn’t too far. Most gorgeous drive ever. There was so much snow, big gloomy clouds hanging over the peaks and lots of rocks and ridges to ooooh and aaaah over. When we got to Estes Park, I loaded up on Peppermint Tea, we drove by the Standard Hotel and then happened upon some Elk. There were a handful grazing near town, but when we headed out to Boulder we saw a whole line of them about a mile long on the move. So fun to see, and such a beautiful backdrop.
