Coming To Terms

November 4, 2020

When your life gets shattered to pieces, coming to terms with what’s just happened is… difficult, to say the least.

You’re shocked.
You’re scared.
You’re angry.
You’re hurt.
You’re fearful.

A whole cocktail of emotions you’d rather not drink.

If you’re at the stage of coming to terms with what happened, whatever combination you’re feeling is completely normal. Once the shellshock is gone, everyone processes loss differently, and it’s always a mess of experiences. There’s no right or wrong, and no one timeline.

However, I will remind you to do one thing: Give yourself permission to feel it ALL without being hard on yourself. Take the time to grieve – the past, the present, the future, and everyone in it.

Accept the loss as something that’s happened and changed the trajectory of your life, altering your sense of self. That’s where suffering ends and the road to recovery begins.
