You don’t have to accept crumbs from someone, just because for them it’s giving a lot. You don’t have to tolerate less than you desire, just because it’s everything to others. You don’t have to stay somewhere that’s not aligned for you, just because another would kill to be there now.
Be grateful and appreciative of the good, and honor what’s true for you.
It doesn’t make you ungrateful. It means you know yourself and your heart. It means you have the self-worth and clarity necessary to go for more in your life. It means you’re unwilling to contort or compromise yourself for anyone else.
The people who get upset about that are the ones that can’t demand more for themselves or who are struggling with losing something or someone the same way.
But that doesn’t make you wrong.
Trust your gut.
Honor your heart.
Raise your standards.
The right communities, experiences, people, and opportunities will follow.
They always do.
