Your thoughts are so much more than just thoughts.
Recurring thoughts become beliefs, and beliefs shape emotions, habits, actions, and ultimately… our entire lives.
However, it so often happens that we – and I include myself here – sometimes nurture the wrong thoughts.
If you’ve wanted to press the restart button on your life, but can’t shake off that little mean voice at the back of your mind, then this one’s for you.
Here’s a look into some recurring thoughts that have no place in your head and practical ways to help you get rid of them!
1. Younger adults have better ideas these days… they have what it takes!
Age has little to do with great ideas.
Actually, age has little to do with anything!
It takes a lot more to succeed than the digits on your ID. Success doesn’t only equal creativity, it’s a mix of knowledge, experience, and above all, taking action.
At the end of the day, top-notch ideas mean little if you don’t act upon them.
Rationalize it so you can convince your mind age doesn’t matter. Make a list of at least 10 advantages you may have over someone younger than you.
Let’s say, you may have more experience, have better habits, and have the discipline it takes to turn an idea into reality!

2. I’m not as digitally fluent as I should be nowadays!
Do you feel anxious on the mere thought of setting up a website or running an Instagram page?
I can promise you this: not one entrepreneur you see online these days had ALL of the skills they needed to succeed before they started! And some of them… yeah, they did fail a few times before finding success!
Nowadays, it’s impossible to know everything. Acknowledge the fact that the world’s changing fast and see how you can change with it!
Two options: either learn from an expert, someone who knows what they’re doing, or outsource that particular task and move on with your day. Yes, it’s that simple!
Decided to take the learning route? Be patient with yourself! If you’re a complete beginner, the learning curve may be steep but it’s going to level up eventually. Everyone was a beginner once!
3. It’s already been done a thousand times.
Let’s look at the bigger picture here:
With over 8 billion people on the planet, chances are, someone somewhere had already done what you’re trying to do… But should that stop you? Discourage you?
Absolutely not! In fact, take your competitors as a positive sign that there’s a solid market for your idea!
The reason being, no one can do something exactly the way you want to do it. Every business, no matter how similar, is fundamentally different.
Know your forte, aka, know your Unique Selling Point!
Make a list of ten advantages you have over five other businesses in the same niche as yours. Let’s say, maybe you can offer better customer service or offer a more individual approach.
Don’t brush things off – sometimes, even the smallest thing can make the biggest difference!
