How to Build Your Business as a Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur

February 19, 2020

You’re creative and quick-witted.

You have all these amazing ideas.

And you’re interested in sooooo maaaaaaany things because hey, there are so many opportunities!

But when the time comes to actually pick ONE thing, and then stick to it for years to build a life you love… yikes! That’s when things get messy for you.

Sounds familiar?

There’s nothing wrong with you.

Actually, you simply may be blessed with a multi-passionate personality!

Here’s how to use your multi-passionate personality to the best of your advantage.

What are multi-passionate entrepreneurs?

Multi-passionate entrepreneurs often get a bad rep in the industry.

The common notion is that in order to become a trusted expert in your industry, you have to choose something – one thing only – and stick with that.

But I beg to differ.

Things are no longer black and white – and multi-passionate businesses are changing the world! Clients have different needs and wants. Who says you can’t address some of them, if not all, at the same time?

How to build your ideal life around ALL of your passions!

Not sure how to get started? Here’s how!

1. Drop the belief that you need to pick ONE thing only.

Making yourself choose only ONE thing from your list of ideas may feel mind-boggling to a person who has many.

Instead of trying to squeeze yourself in a mold, what if you made your own mold?

Think: can you combine all of your passions into one business?

If yes, what can that business be? If no, which ones do you need to eliminate and still fit the majority of your interests under one umbrella?

2. Give all of your ideas a go if you must but…

… be careful! Not every hobby or interest of yours has to be part of your business.

It’s okay if some of your hobbies stay that – only hobbies.

For example, while I’m very passionate about fitness and healthy living, there’s no place for that in my multi-passionate business (or desire to have it there). It’s just for me!

3. Find out how to serve your ideal clients.

Instead of wasting time trying to find that one thing you want to do as an entrepreneur, reverse the process.

What’s the best way to serve your ideal client?

What stage are they in life? What do they need help with?

How can you – with your expertise and multiple passions – help change their life?

In my case, I combine helping individuals step into who they’re here to be and the work they’re here to do – their purpose – and I do that at ALL stages of the journey. Helping them build a business is just ONE aspect of everything I do, and I couldn’t love my business more!!

At first, it seemed impossible to tie all of them together but I realized that’s exactly what my ideal client needs. They don’t only need a fancy website or a marketing strategy – they need someone who’s going to be with them every step of the way around living out their purpose in this life.

4. Follow your gut.

I’ve never met a multi-passionate person who wasn’t intuitive (because, honestly, we’re all intuitive!!) You have the wonderful gift of receiving guidance from your higher self, so use that to your advantage.

Sure, it may take a while to tune in with your gut at first but once you do, you’ll know right away whether following a passion is the right business move or not!
