Stand Fully Rooted in What You Desire

April 26, 2018

I know what I want.

In my next relationship and partner.
Around the work I’m creating in the world.
Where my boundaries are.
What I will and will not tolerate.
What I’m willing to risk and what I’m not.
How I want to show up.
Who I want to be inside it all.

When you get really clear on what you want, everything becomes simple. But only if you stand fully rooted in what you desire and the vision you hold for your life, work, and relationships. Fully committed and fully devoted.

It’s simple, but so very far from easy.

Because it often requires you to let go of the people and experiences that have been an integral part of your life. It requires a willingness to let go of the hands and communities that held you, the life that’s familiar and known, and the security that’s kept you comfortable.

It requires loss.
Letting go and moving on.
Goodbyes you never thought you’d give.

It’s heartbreaking and life affirming in one fell swoop. Because when you stand fully rooted in what you desire—what you want and what you’re committed to creating—that deep level of alignment and full expression brings you alive in the most exhilarating ways.

But you have to know what you want.
Really, fully, truly.

In this world of being practical, playing roles, and gaslighting at every turn, we don’t really know how to do that. We’re never taught how to claim what we want. We know how to talk about it “down the road” or from a “realistic” perspective. But claiming it right now? Nope. That would stretch us too far outside our comfort zone. It would require us to look at what we need to let go of in order to actualize it.

Claiming what you want requires loss; Of comfort, self, community, and beliefs. The cost of denying yourself, your truth, your wants, and your needs is far greater.  I promise you that.

Trust yourself enough to claim what you want. To give your everything to bringing your visions to life. To not settle for less than you desire or deserve.
Trust yourself to brave the losses, because what you gain will be more amazing than you could possibly comprehend from where you stand now.

That I know for sure. 💕
