Start Connecting and Building and Engaged Audience

April 24, 2019

This happens a lot with clients of all kinds.

They call me up or email to tell me about the new program they’re taking, book they’re reading, or coach they’ve hired to help with x, y, z. They read a blog post from so-and-so big name that was shared in the new business Facebook group they joined this week. You know what I’m talking about because I know you do this too (we all do, myself included at times).

Stop.

I know you have a list of great reasons, but they’re really just excuses. You know what you need to do. And even if you’re 100% positive that you don’t and you need to learn something new before you’ll know… you still know what you need to do.

And in case you need me to tell you:
Create content and put yourself out there.

I know you think you need the website to be perfect and the thousands of hours of “marketing research” to be completed… and yes, I’m a website designer so I know websites are important. But what’s MOST important is building a relationship with your prospective clients and customers RIGHT NOW.

Because in all the time it takes you to learn all the things There are to learn, to tweak and toil and redo your website fifteen times until it’s “perfect,”  to download and not read all the awesome freebies online, and to start/stop/start/stop all the programs you could possibly take… you could have built a solid relationship with your audience.

If you’re thinking, “I don’t have a big audience, Stephenie…” I know. That’s my point. And even if you have a decent sized audience, it could be bigger.

For the entirety of my business in all its forms and with all my clients I have said the same thing:

Start.
Creating.
And.
Sharing.
Content.

RIGHT NOW.

I don’t care what website you do or don’t have.
I don’t care if you’re not 100% clear what you’re selling.
I don’t care if you’re not sure whether to blog or video or use Facebook.

Make a piece of content.
Whatever you feel inspired to make.

Share it somewhere your people hang out.
Maybe that’s just your Facebook page with family for now.

Do it again.
And again, and again.

I blogged and shared aimlessly for EIGHT MONTHS before I knew what I was doing or had anything to sell. And when I launched my very first program, nine people signed up. Nine. Seven of which I didn’t know or expect. It grew from there.

Because I’d started audience and relationship building right away. Because I created and shared content, despite it being random and unfocused for months. Because I tried what felt right, and what was available to me from where I was starting (Facebook, friends, family).

Is not having a website really your reason?
I’ve made it easy and affordable.

Not sure where to start?
I also offer coaching.

Convinced you need another program?
Here, I have one.

Those aren’t what you need right now?

Go create and share some content.

Your people are waiting for you.

Get out there and start talking to them today!
