The goal isn’t to bounce back.
If you’re going through a period of massive change, personal turmoil, lots of trauma, tears, and pain… don’t focus on trying to bounce back.
That’s no longer possible because your life has now changed forever. You’ve changed forever. Your core has changed forever.
Even if things around you go back to the way they used to be, you don’t fit in that frame anymore, not in the way you did before.
So what do you do?
For starters, acknowledge the period you’re going through, embrace it for precisely what it is, and allow yourself to be shaped by it. Choose the meaning you’re going to make and open yourself to what’s next?
Find comfort in the fact that, yes, you will bounce back. Just in a different way. Each time a bit stronger and more powerful.
