Where I’ve Been, Where I’m Going

May 30, 2018

The vlog is officially back!

I’m really excited about what I’ll be sharing and I wanted to kick it off by telling you more about where I’ve been and why I took a break (it involves people trying to date me last summer… funny, but true). I’m also sharing more about what I’ve been working on, what I’m creating, and how the vlog fits into that!

Hi, you guys. Welcome back to the vlog. I am really, really excited to start making videos for you again. So what I thought I would do with this first video back is really share where I’ve been, and where I’m going, and how I see this vlog really fitting into that, and ultimately supporting you.

Something that’s been really important to me, in everything that I create, whether it’s writing, or a video like this, or a program, anything that I’m putting out into the world for other people to consume, is to be as real, and open, and honest, and transparent as possible. What happened for me when I tried to resume vlogging, and then ultimately fell off again last year, is that there were certain things happening in my personal life that I didn’t feel ready to talk about publicly. And really, that comes back to romantic relationships, and healing from the last two relationships that I was in, and dealing with all of the stuff that was coming up that needed to be faced and worked on, as people attempted to date me over the summer last year.

So I took a timeout, and what I really focused on was writing, and keeping you guys in the loop and up to date on what I was learning and what I was really going through that way. You know, really doing the deeper work of looking at my patterns, and my beliefs, and my personality type, and what I was bringing into those different exchanges.

A really, really big part of that work, for me, was learning how to integrate all of the aspects of myself that had become fragmented over the years. So being someone who spent most of my life feeling like I didn’t fit in, I don’t belong, there’s not a place for me in this world, to being in relationships that were toxic, that were abusive and manipulative, where there was gas lighting constantly, I became so fragmented that parts of me were operating separate from each other. I couldn’t stand firmly-rooted in this is who I am, this is what I want, this is what is and is not acceptable, in every area of my life, work, relationships, everything.

And so I really took some time, and I stepped back, and I worked on integrating all those parts of me. I got really rooted in who I am, and what I want to create, and who I’m here to be in the world. I got really clear on if I’m going to be in a relationship, this is what it’s going to look like. If I’m going to be in friendships, this is what it’s going to look like. If I am going to run a business, if I’m going to put myself out there, if I’m going to create, this is what it’s going to look like. This is how it has to be to feel really aligned with who I am and who I want to be in the world.

I’ve done that deeper work, and I’ve gotten really, really clear in a way that I’ve never been in my entire life. And honestly, going through those many months of this work, it has required a lot of letting go. A lot of loss. A lot of being willing to, as Cheryl Strayed says, break my own heart. You know, I’ve been letting go of a lot of relationships and people that are near and dear to me, because that is what needs to happen in order for me to stop into what’s next. Either because they were actually not great or supportive relationships, or because they were wonderful people that I love, but they’re simply not the right fit for what I need going forward in all areas of my life and my work.

So learning how to let go, how to be very clear in my boundaries in what I want and I don’t want. How to take actions that are only aligned with what I want to create, rather than care-taking others, or trying to fit into expectations. Whether it’s society’s, or family’s, or friends’, or anything like that, just being clear on this is who I am, and this is what I’m here to create. And that’s gotten me to this point, where I am ready to step into this next level of living, and loving, and creating in my life and my work.

And like I shared, my intention for the vlog has always been to bring you guys behind the scenes, not just from a perspective of this is what I’m working on personally, or what I’m going through, and these are my lessons, and I want to live them out loud and share them with you so that maybe you take something away from that, and it helps you on your own path, but really to show people what it takes to create what you want in your life and your work.

As many people who follow me or are friends with me know, I am very multi-passionate. I have a lot of big visions and big dreams. I have a lot of brands, a lot of companies, a lot of programs, a lot of projects. I have spent my entire life being told that I can’t do all of that. I need to focus, I need to choose one. And quite frankly, I think that’s bullshit. I think that we can do a lot more than we give ourselves credit for, if we are willing to do this deeper work, if we are really willing to let go, and break our own hearts, and create the necessary time and space to attract the right people, attract the right opportunities. To really focus and be devoted on what we want to create.

Some of the things that I’m working on right now is taking my brand, my company, which is Stephenie Zamora Media, really positioning us as a media and production company, a publishing house, as well as a design and branding agency. And in addition to that, I am getting ready to start building an institute. And that institute, I’ll share more about in upcoming videos, but is really about innovating in the life purpose development space in a way that is so much bigger than I’ve been doing, and so much bigger than just me, and my personal brand, and the companies that I’ve built so far. So I’m excited to share more about that.

Right now, what I’m really, really focused on is growing my design agency. We do website design, development, and copywriting for some really phenomenal people. People who are just starting out, all the way to thought leaders who have been in their industry for many years, and are making multiple six and seven figures in their companies. And all of my clients share the same thing. They are doing the work that they are here to do. They are purpose-driven. They want to make a difference. And what they’re creating is really their soul’s work.

And so for the first half of this year, I’ve really had my head down growing that agency, getting the right offerings in place, putting the right team in place, doing the marketing, and really focusing on my internal stuff that has kept me and my design business small. Really working with the mindset stuff, the beliefs, and really stepping into the level of leadership that I need to lead at in order to grow this business the way that I want to. So I’ve been very focused on that.

There’s also Call of the Void, which is where this vlog was born. It’s where I write. It’s where I share about my own journey. It’s where I will be releasing the Unravel book, which is my story, my journey from the last three years. Which, fingers crossed, will be in November. And I’m getting ready to launch a journey-mapping program, which is all about how to use the hero’s journey as a tool to really rise up and come back from these darker, harder chapters, these more challenging seasons of living that we all go through.

And then I have Awesome Life Tips®, which is a brand and book near and dear to my heart. You know, we have the daily emails that go out at awesomelifetips.com, I have the first book. I’m working on a second book for that collection as well.

I have Your Passion-Based Business™, which is my 12-week business-building program that takes people from this is what I think I’m passionate about, all the way to running their online business. Having their offerings. Having sales calls and consultation calls. Bringing in their first clients. Having a marketing plan in place. Having a website up with all the right copy for them. And I love that program, and it’s just been kind of sitting idle for a while, so I have plans to revive that in a really fun way, and get that back out into the world.

And yeah, I’ll have more to share about the institute and what that’s about, and how that fits into everything. Again, I just wanted to start these videos back up by saying hi, I missed you. I missed doing this. I have so much to share, and there’s a lot of different ways that I want to bring you behind the scenes of my life and my business, to really show you what I’m creating. Why it’s important, how I’m doing it, what I’m bumping up against in myself and externally. And how I’m handling all of that.

Because I know that you have a big vision for yourself and your work too, and if what I am going through, what I am creating, can support that in any way, than that’s, that’s why I do this. So if at any point you have specific questions for me about anything that I’m sharing, or anything that I’m creating, I would love to know. I would be happy to make a video around that. Yeah, and you will start seeing videos at least once a week from me going forward, along with blog posts.

You can subscribe to both at callofthevoid.tv. And stepheniezamora.com has been turned into kind of a hub, landing page, for everything that I talked about. So it shares more about the mission and the vision for our company, and it highlights some of our current projects that we’re working on. The design company, Awesome Life Tips, Call of the Void, and soon, Your Passion-Based Business and the institute. And just shows you how you can connect with me through different social media channels.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what we create together over the rest of this year and beyond that. So I will see you next week in another video.
