Where You Should Be

November 18, 2020

You don’t need to figure it all out today!

Challenging times may feel like wandering aimlessly through a maze. You keep walking round and round, with no exit in sight.

Where do you go when you don’t know where to go?
What do you do when you don’t know what to do?

If that sounds like what you’ve been feeling lately, then try stopping for a moment. Stop thinking about where you should be and just be right where you are. Stop thinking about what you should do and try taking a rest. Stop punishing yourself for whatever you did or did not do, and focus on the lessons and the gifts of everything you’ve walked through.

The goal is to settle your mind, body, and nervous system enough that you can exit the perpetual state of fight-or-flight… and then figure out what’s meant to come next with full presence, purpose, and intention.

Rest, meditate or pray, and treat yourself well.
Allow your intuition to start speaking again.
Be kind and gentle with yourself.

That’s when it stops feeling like a disorienting maze—when you’ll feel like you’ve found your footing and have a sense of direction.

Just give yourself a breather.
You’ll get to where you want to be.
