Be Gentle With Yourself

November 30, 2020

Today, this week, this month…try being gentle with yourself.

Every time you start pushing yourself, feel burdened by the things you think you should be doing, or you start drowning in the endless and often arbitrary expectations of others, slow down.

Be gentle with yourself.
Slow down for a bit.
Take your foot off the gas.
Rest and recover.
Say no more often.

You’ve been through a lot.

Feel your feelings and feed the parts that are coming alive in truly nurturing ways. Take space and cut yourself some slack. Get support in healing from everything that’s happened.

Stop punishing yourself for the missteps and failures. Forgive yourself for whatever you did or didn’t do. Give yourself grace, tenderness, and care. Learn how to sit inside the emptiness and be with yourself.

This is some of the most critical work we can do. It lays the foundation for what’s next to reveal itself, giving us the energy and ability to pursue it wholeheartedly.
