Healing doesn’t happen overnight.
Expecting to be healed just because you’ve talked about it or read an inspiring book or did a workshop on letting go… that’s not how things happen. Don’t get me wrong; those things DO help – it just takes time.
Setting unrealistic expectations and giving yourself ridiculous timeframes may only push you deeper into the hole you’re so desperately trying to get out from.
The fall’s not the hard part – the comeback is.
While you’re trying to work things out for yourself and find your footing in the world again, keep your expectations to a minimum. Stop trying to figure out how you’re “supposed” to feel at certain stages. Stop belittling yourself for being too much of one thing or too little of another. Stop worrying whether or not you’re there yet.
What you’re going to is ultimately going to change you from the core and change life as you know it. Big things take time.
So, what’s the rush?
Trust the process.
