Keep Coming Home to Yourself

December 20, 2016

It’s easy to get lost in this life. To fall off your center and venture down the wrong path… to forget who you are at your core, and who you know you’re here to be. It’s easy to disconnect from your purpose, your vision, the work you feel called to do.

Far too easy if you ask me.

Even after the many years of work I did to come home to myself in my 20s, I still find myself falling off my center. Because of loss, relationships, stressful periods in growing my business. Because, you know, life.

Not too long ago I found myself sitting in front of my journal, wondering why I was attracting a particular experience over and over again, when it clearly wasn’t aligned with my deepest desire for that area of my life. Why, if I knew in my heart it wasn’t what I wanted, did it keep showing up?

The answer is simple: it was because of me, falling off my center, losing sight of my own truth… again.

Because I hadn’t been vibrating at the level I needed to be in order to align with what I truly desired. I wasn’t the person I needed to be. I didn’t operate at a level that I needed to. I was unclear, unfocused, distracted. Pouring my energy into things I didn’t actually care about.

“Ooooooh,” I thought as I wrote, “of course that’s why.

I can’t have the business I desire if I’m not operating at the level of Lady Boss that I need to be, focused and clear, strategic and on purpose.

I can’t have the relationship I desire if I’m not a match for the type of partner I truly want, if I’m not able to embody that energy in myself.

I can’t have the creative flow and expression I desire if I’m not resonant with the energy and space necessary to cultivate deeper creativity.

I can’t have the energy and vitality I desire if I’m not aligning myself with the actions and intentions necessary to create it, every single day.

We have to be a vibrational match for what we desire.
Or, at least, doing the consistent work to align at the level needed.

It’s not enough to say we want it and recite fluffy affirmations in front of pretty vision boards. It’s not enough to crave it inside our every cell. These things aren’t the only ingredients… we have to take consistent, intentional actions to align ourselves with that which we want to attract.

That might mean practicing more gratitude.
Eating healthier or starting to exercise.
It might look like getting your finances in order.
Cleaning up and decluttering all areas of your life.

It could look like a lot of different things…
But it always, always looks like coming home to yourself.

We can’t create and attract what we desire when we’re not clear on who we are and what we want, each and every day. If we’re not doing the work to connect to the truths at our core, in each and every moment.

That’s how we continue to stay aligned regardless of what life throws at us. Regardless of the drama, the stress, the to dos, or the expectations. We stay on our center. Rooted in what’s true for us. Focused on who we are, who we’re becoming, and all that we’re here to do.

For me, that’s writing, nature, connection, and quiet. It’s creative play, adventuring, and learning/growing/experiencing this life fully. It’s sitting in stillness and allowing my whole being to settle into source. Mining around for the wisdom and insight and direction I need to keep moving forward.

Today I simply want to remind you of this thing I need to hear often too: keep coming home to yourself. No matter what’s happening. Keep coming home. Each and every day, as many times as you need.

Don’t lose your center.
